下总羽生村的医生宗悦（岬洋二 饰）雪夜前往武士深见新左卫门（中村彰 饰）家催讨租金，结果惨遭杀害。宗悦尸体被沉于池底，然怨念不死，缠住仇家。新左卫门狂性大发，误杀妻子，自己也溺于池中。深见家老管家寅八（野崎喜彦 饰）怀抱主人尚在襁褓中的孩子，偷偷放在商人羽见屋的门口。
