菲腊花了两个月的薪金买下八米厘摄影机，本想纪录刚出生女儿的成长，但厂长却要求他为单位服务，拍摄联欢晚会；误打误撞下，居然给他在电影节里捞了个奖。他登时雄心万丈立志成为纪录片大师，冷落娇妻也在所不计。但镜头下的真实却不是人人吃得消。当人民英雄的代价是好同事成了活靶，最後菲腊要在成名与道义之间作取舍。
